  Shelley Fabares, the beloved actress known for her roles in The Donna Reed Show and Coach , has died at the age of 82. Fabares died Saturday, August 22, in Los Angeles, her family confirmed in a statement to the Associated Press. No cause of death was disclosed. Fabares became a familiar face on American television after playing Mary Stone on The Donna Reed Show . She later appeared in numerous television productions and became especially well known to a new generation for her role as Christine Armstrong on the long-running sitcom Coach . Her career also included several films with Elvis Presley, including Girl Happy , Spinout and Clambake . Fabares also enjoyed success as a singer. Her 1962 song “Johnny Angel” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On Coach , Fabares starred opposite Craig T. Nelson and earned two Primetime Emmy nominations for her performance. Human Remains Found Miles From Nancy Guthrie’s Home, Sheriff Says No Connection Human remains have been discovered in a desert area about 15 miles from the home of missing Arizona woman Nancy Guthrie, but authorities say there is currently no indication that the remains are connected to her disappearance. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to reports of human remains near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard in the Tucson area. According to the sheriff’s department, the remains appear to have been at the location for an extended period of time. Officials have not indicated that they belong to Nancy Guthrie.
