Human Remains Found Miles From Nancy Guthrie’s Home, Sheriff Says No Connection

Human remains have been discovered in a desert area about 15 miles from the home of missing Arizona woman Nancy Guthrie, but authorities say there is currently no indication that the remains are connected to her disappearance.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to reports of human remains near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard in the Tucson area.

According to the sheriff’s department, the remains appear to have been at the location for an extended period of time. Officials have not indicated that they belong to Nancy Guthrie.

Nancy Guthrie Case Remains Unsolved

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on January 31 and was reported missing on February 1. Investigators believe she was taken from her home.

Her disappearance has received widespread attention because she is the mother of Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.

Authorities continue to investigate the case and have not publicly identified a suspect or announced an official motive.

Sheriff Says No Current Link

The sheriff’s department emphasized that there is no indication at this time that the newly discovered remains are connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.

Officials also said the remains appeared to have been at the location for a considerable period, making the discovery separate from the current missing-person investigation based on information available so far.

The investigation into the remains is continuing, while authorities remain focused on finding answers in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Savannah Guthrie and her family have continued to appeal to the public for information that could help investigators locate her mother.
