Bears’ Caleb Williams Leaves on Cart After Injuring Hamstring
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter.
Williams was injured during a scramble near the Vikings’ goal line. The play appeared to be non-contact, and Williams immediately showed signs of discomfort in his right leg.
The Bears’ medical staff attended to the quarterback before he was helped off the field. Williams was subsequently taken to the locker room on a cart and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Before leaving, Williams completed 15 of 26 passes for 138 yards and had one interception. He also contributed 42 rushing yards on five carries.
The Bears struggled offensively after Williams’ departure and ultimately fell to the Vikings 9–3.
Injury Update
Following the game, Bears head coach Ben Johnson indicated that the injury was to Williams’ hamstring and not his knee. The full severity of the injury was not immediately known, with further medical evaluation expected to provide more information.
There was at least some encouraging news afterward, as Williams was reportedly seen walking under his own power and was in good spirits.
What’s Next for Caleb Williams?
The Bears will now wait for the results of Williams’ medical evaluation before determining the quarterback’s availability for the team’s next game.
His status will be closely monitored in the coming days, particularly as Chicago prepares for its upcoming matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
For now, the Bears and their fans will be hoping the injury is not serious and that Williams can return to the field as soon as it is medically safe.
