Cowboys Defeat Seattle 17-7 in Preseason Opener

The Dallas Cowboys opened their 2026 NFL preseason with a 17-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night in Seattle.

Seattle Takes Early Lead

The Seahawks struck first, putting together an 80-yard opening drive that ended with Drew Lock connecting with Montorie Foster Jr. for a touchdown.

Dallas responded in the second quarter. Brandon Aubrey converted a field goal before quarterback Sam Howell connected with rookie wide receiver Camden Brown on a 39-yard touchdown pass, giving the Cowboys a 10-7 halftime lead.

Camden Brown Shines for Dallas

Brown continued to make an impact after halftime, catching another touchdown pass from Joe Milton III in the third quarter. His two touchdown receptions proved decisive as Dallas extended its lead to 17-7.

Dallas' defense also settled down after allowing Seattle's opening touchdown. The Cowboys kept the Seahawks scoreless over the final three quarters and held Seattle to just 76 yards across its final seven drives.

Seahawks Struggle After Fast Start

Seattle's offense could not maintain its early momentum. The Seahawks rested their starters, giving reserve players an opportunity to compete for roster spots ahead of the regular season.

The loss gives Seattle plenty to evaluate before its next preseason game, while Dallas can take encouragement from several young players competing for roster positions.

What It Means

Although preseason results do not determine the regular-season standings, Dallas' comeback from an early deficit and its defensive improvement provide encouraging signs as the Cowboys continue preparing for the 2026 season.

Human Remains Found Miles From Nancy Guthrie’s Home, Sheriff Says No Connection Human remains have been discovered in a desert area about 15 miles from the home of missing Arizona woman Nancy Guthrie, but authorities say there is currently no indication that the remains are connected to her disappearance. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to reports of human remains near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard in the Tucson area. According to the sheriff’s department, the remains appear to have been at the location for an extended period of time. Officials have not indicated that they belong to Nancy Guthrie.
